NFL COVID Rules Are About Green, Not Red or Blue

Dan wants to make sure everyone understands the new COVID rules are NOT political; they’re about money. After losing so much revenue during the shutdown, the NFL needs to ensure they have fans in stadiums and the only way to safely do that is to get as many players vaccinated as possible. It’s not about left or right, red or blue; the league’s motivation for pressuring players to get vaccinated is entirely green.

Dan Patrick:“The NFL is trying to protect the business, for which that means pressuring teams and players to get vaccinated. I’m not going to make this a political topic today, I’m just not. This is about business and the reaction here. You choose to get vaccinated, or you don’t. It’s up to you but there’s also consequences there…And people want to make this a political moment here. I understand the politics attached to this, but this is about financials, that’s all this is. This is about the bottom line of a business…The NFL is trying to protect the bottom line and these owners lost all of that revenue. They didn’t have anybody showing up at games. They lost all of that revenue. They want to get that revenue back and they don’t want some player, or some players getting in the way of that. That’s what this is all about. But you will have players who want to make it political and that’s their right, but you just have to understand this is GREEN, not red and blue. That’s the way the NFL views this. This is about money, not about right or left. It’s not.”
