Chargers GM Tom Telesco Was Sold on Justin Herbert at the Rose Bowl

Los Angeles Chargers General Manager, Tom Telesco joined The Doug Gottlieb Show live from the Chargers training campsite in Costa Mesa, California. Telesco talked about what went into the process of hiring a first-time head coach in Brandon Staley, drafting what looks like a future Pro Bowler in Justin Herbert, and more!

Tom Telesco on when he knew Justin Herbert was the prospect to draft for LA: "With Justin, our scouts were rock-solid on him all the way through. Kevin Kelly, our college director, saw a lot of him and loved what he saw. When I saw him at the Rose Bowl, that was like one of those, 'This is the GUY." Watching him move that team in that game against a really good defense against Wisconsin and then the Senior Bowl..even seeing him down there. The Senior Bowl is great because you can see him interact with his teammates on a day-to-day basis, how he interacts with the coaches. He was leading that group, and he had just gotten there on Monday. In 5 days, he was the leader of the team; he was the MVP of the game. So, you start to put that all together, and then you kinda let it go from there.
