Colin Cowherd Admits He Was Wrong About the Raiders

Colin Cowherd didn't have much hope for the Las Vegas Raiders entering the 2021 NFL season, but now after three weeks of wins, Colin may be ready to rescind that prediction.

Colin Cowherd: "I think the one team so far that I whiffed on is the Raiders. I had them as a seven-win team in last place. I didn't like their defense; they couldn't generate a pass rush. And I felt like Derek Carr was the life preserver. I didn't know if Gruden was working or Mayock was working. All I know was the tight end, Waller was working, and Derek Carr is exceptional. Here's something interesting. Carr completed the ball to NINE different targets. Now as much as I was impressed with Green Bay, let's be honest about the Packers; it's all Davante Adams. Every big throw is to Davante Adams. The Raiders, Derek Carr, this game was wildly entertaining. I whiffed on the Raiders. Nine different targets, 500 yards against Miami's defense, they won a shoot-out with Baltimore and Lamar Jackson. There are certain things that really matter in this league when you look at quarterbacks. And this is why I defend for years, Tony Romo. Tony Romo's quarterback rating in the 4th quarter when you often have to throw trailing is the 4th highest of all time. Tony Romo could play. Derek Carr's 4th quarter passer rating this year is 127, which is virtually perfect. And that's different."
