There’s Nothing Wrong with the Tomahawk Chop

The Braves are in the World Series so the limelight is shining directly upon them which means the PC Police are out in force as protests against using Native American imagery in sports increase. While Doug Gottlieb may lean left on a number of social issues, even he can’t understand exactly what the problem is. Rather than denigrating Native Americans, Doug believes keeping team names like the Chiefs and Braves actually preserves and glorifies Native American culture. He thinks it’s cool to see the tomahawk chop and has no issue with fans using it to support their home teams.

Doug Gottlieb: “People are going to do it (the tomahawk chop). I think it’s cool when they do it at Chiefs games. I think it’s cool when they do it at Braves games...and I do think some proper cultural representation is a good thing...People are making it about a completely different argument.”
