Tom Brady officially announced his retirement and Dan Patrick is first up to react. He has nothing but praise for the G.O.A.T., especially for how he handled the end of his career. The next generation of NFL quarterbacks have some work to do if they ever want to be considered in the same conversation with Tom Brady, because nobody else is even close.
Dan Patrick: “I’m old enough to remember when Joe Namath and Johnny Unitas ended their careers with teams other than the ones that they earned their Hall of Fame bust with, and you just watched them and you just, you didn’t want to see that. Where you go, ‘Oh my gosh, going to end with the Rams, going to end it with the Chargers.’ (Tom Brady) played at a really high level. I mean, the bar is set so high. We want Patrick Mahomes maybe to be the G.O.A.T. in waiting here. It’s a dynasty of one right now. Brady: you can’t ask for anything more.”
