Doug Gottlieb is extremely skeptical of former Cleveland Browns HC Hue Jackson’s comments on the Browns encouraging him to lose games. To Doug, it just sounds like the Browns were bad and wanted to reward Jackson with a new contract for all the struggles he had to put up with and coach through. While Doug agrees the NFL has incentivized losing to some degree, he doesn’t think that applies in this situation.
Doug Gottlieb: “The Browns did not, apparently, hold Hue Jackson personally responsible for all the losing and rewarded him with a new contract because he had been through the tough days...I got to tell you, we’re making it into something that it is not.”
