On today's Straight Outta Vegas, RJ Bell and AJ Hoffman dive deep into the allegations brought to light by former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. RJ breaks out the numbers for NFL coaches who have been fired with three or less seasons on the job and comes to the conclusion that Flores' record in Miami and expectations for the franchise, according to history, should not have led to his dismissal, and ultimately something fishy happened in Florida.
RJ Bell: "Flores is in a group of nineteen who fired with 3 or less years on the job... Okay, how many of them had a winning record against the spread? And you may say 'Who cares! Why are you trying to get Vegas into this?' No, this is the most important number, because what is the Vegas spread?
AJ Hoffman: "Expectation."
RJ Bell: "Expectation. Exactly. So if you exceed expectations, those aren't the guys who usually get fired. If you fall short of expectations, that kind of says maybe he should be fired."
