Antonio Daniels: “Zion hasn’t given anyone implications that he wants to leave New Orleans. This is just a typical narrative the media turns to when a player isn’t playing, there’s a trade, free agent signing or a team is struggling. They’ve been doing it to Damian Lillard for years, they’ve started doing it to Donovan Mitchell and up until he signed and won a championship, they did it to Giannis. Players that play in small markets are constantly swimming upstream. People are constantly trying to steer star players out of small markets in favor of the bigger ones. Honestly, if they collapsed the NBA to just 8-10 teams in major markets, a lot of these narratives would fizzle out.”
