Much of the noise around Zion Williamson continues to be very speculative. While it may be as simple as he's currently rehabbing away from the New Orleans Pelicans, other reports beg to differ from him not initially wanting to be drafted to New Orleans to executives waiting to poach him provided he refuses to sign an extension with the Pelicans. If you top that off with former teammates calling him out for being detached because he waited far too long to communicate with new acquisitions to the team, it starts to paint a picture of interesting things to come.
In the video above, Chris Broussard expresses his concerns with the future of Zion Williamson and feels like the events are unfolding that he could be looking to jump ship to another team but Broussard thinks it's a bad idea.
Chris Broussard: "If I was advising Zion Williamson or someone close to him, I would look him dead in the eye and be like 'Dude, you have got to, as soon as possible (and that is at the end of the regular season), you have got to sign this contract extension. 5 years, $181 Million! You need to sign it because your body has already been betraying you for the last 3 years and actually more than that. And just in case it continues to betray you, you can lock up this money! If you don't like New Orleans, you can work your way out of there. Hopefully, you can do it in a better way than Ben Simmons did. But there are ways.'"
Rob Parker talks about the ramifications of Zion leaving New Orleans.
Rob Parker: If Zion forces his way out of New Orleans, I don't think they're a viable NBA franchise anymore. You can't keep doing this.
