Jason Smith & Doug Gottlieb fill in for Dan Patrick and react to the news that Eric Bieniemy will remain with the Chiefs as their Offensive Coordinator. While Jason, like many others, continues to be surprised that Bieniemy isn’t getting any head coaching opportunities, Doug explains that there is nothing nefarious, nor racist going on here. In each situation, Bieniemy was given a fair shot and simply didn’t measure up to the competition.
Jason Smith: “I just can’t help but think that, boy, there’s just still too much mystery around this story. Where now, there should be more meat on the bone here, or we should know, OK, this is why so-and-so is not getting the opportunity that he is.”
Doug Gottlieb: “...If Ryan Poles thought the answer to the quarterback problems of the Chicago Bears resided in Eric Bieniemy because of his work with Pat Mahomes, he’d be the head coach of the Chicago Bears right now. He’s not. That tells you all you need to know.”
