Los Angeles Dodgers Manager, Dave Roberts joins Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show as Spring Training gets underway. He says the squad looks strong and ready to go. He shares the excitement of the organization over acquiring Freddie Freeman who seems to be fitting in well with the rest of the team. He addresses the rumors that Clayton Kershaw might be interested in finishing his career as a Texas Ranger. And he weighs in on some of the rule changes being instituted this season. Lastly, he makes it clear they are going to win the World Series this year.
Dan Patrick: “It feels like this might be year-to-year with Clayton, or am I reading too much into this?”
Dave Roberts: “I think that it’s fair as far as a year-to-year situation. I think right now he’s in a position where he can dictate where he wants to play. And obviously he’s a Dodger for life, a Dodger legend, but Texas is home and so that’s been kind of made public. But right now, he’s a Dodger for this year. We’ll see what happens next year...”
Dan: “So, you could see him, it’s not out of the realm of possibilities that he could end his career as a Texas Rangers?”
Dave: “You know what, with Clayton, I don’t want to speak for him DP, but I could see that that’s a possibility. But that’s up to him and Alan, so I don’t know that answer.”
