Clayton Kershaw Was Perfect Enough

Los Angeles Dodgers future Hall of Fame pitcher, Clayton Kershaw threw 7 perfect innings today before being pulled from the game by manager Dave Roberts. Dodgers fans are up in arms, feeling like Roberts robbed them (and Kershaw) of an iconic moment in his career. But Doug Gottlieb understands that 80 pitches for an aging pitcher in his first start of the season is plenty, and keeping Kershaw healthy for the playoffs in October is much more important than a perfect game in April.

Doug Gottlieb: “All the new school people will tell you to shut him down, and I kinda think the old school people would be like, ‘He ain’t Nolan’s the first start of the year, I don’t see it’”
