Doug Gottlieb: “My guess would be, yeah, the Cardinals knew (about Hopkins violating PED policy), but the team was probably into the idea of Hollywood (Marquise) Brown and it maybe pushed them towards executing the trade. Here’s the other part...Bill O’Brien has been raked over the coals for the DeAndre Hopkins trade...I think all of this in reality helps the O’Brien narrative.”

Doug Gottlieb and anchor Bryan Fenley break the news that Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins has been suspended by the NFL for the first 6 games of the 2022 season because of violating the league’s PED policy. Gottlieb believes that it’s possible the Cardinals knew about Hopkins’ violation which in turn adds more insight on the trade that sent WR Marquise Brown to Arizona. He also believes the breaking Hopkins news helps former Texans HC Bill O’Brien’s narrative with the organization.
