Wednesday on 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, Jonas Knox and Brady Quinn wonder how the QB competition between Mitch Trubisky and Kenny Pickett will play out to start the season.
Brady Quinn: "I fully expect Pickett to play well. He should be familiar with the system. He's going to be familiar with the confines and everything else. He should feel really comfortable leading up to the season. I would think that to him as much as anyone else given his age and experience, he'll be as NFL ready as any of these other rookie quarterbacks to play week one, day one. I don't know if he'll be the week one starter, but I think there's a chance that he'll be coming in shortly if Trubisky doesn't play well."
Jonas Knox: "If you're seeing the two guys and it's relatively close, Mitch Trubisky obviously looks a little bit better, but it's kind of close, why wait? Why not just start Pickett week one if you're Pittsburgh?
Brady Quinn: "You go with the younger guy because you invested into Kenny Pickett. You really haven't invested much into Mitchell Trubisky..."
