Today on “Straight Outta Vegas with RJ Bell,” RJ Bell and the crew react to Kyrie Irving opting into his player option with the Brooklyn Nets for the 2022-23 season. Although the news shifts the Nets title odds going into next season, RJ Bell believes their odds hinge on another player’s status.
RJ Bell: “I expect Brooklyn to be amongst that 7-1 range, and if Ben Simmons looks good in the preseason, I expect them to be the favorites. As much as we can be disappointed about Brooklyn the last few years, they were favorited as a 7-seed last year without Ben Simmons, and underperformed.”
AJ Hoffman: “The Nets have moved up to as high as the 9th favorites following the news today.”
