On Wednesday the Carolina Panthers sent a conditional 5th round draft pick in exchange for Baker Mayfield. The Panthers also only have to pay $5 million of Baker's salary. Despite this, Ben Maller gives the Panthers a 'D' grade for the trade.
Ben Maller: "Dealing for Baker Mayfield is another cockamamie idea by the front office in Carolina. They have all of the key parts of a hot mess...Carolina has decided for whatever reason to get a collection of bad QBs and they're succeeding. Now I didn't give the Panthers an 'F' for this trade but the only reason I didn't give them an 'F' is cuz they didn't really give up anything."
