Boston Celtics Guard and reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Marcus Smart joins Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show. They talk about strength training and Smart says LeBron is one of the physically strongest guys in the league, and slamming in to picks set by guys like Dwight Howard and Nikola Djokovic are like brick walls. He understands that players like Steph Curry are paid to score but he takes pride in being paid to stop them. And he addresses the offseason rumors that have him and others on his squad floating around as trade bait for Kevin Durant.

Dan Patrick: “You hear the rumors in the offseason, maybe Kevin Durant’s coming to Boston. You know that Jayson Tatum, Jalen Brown, somebody’s going to be involved, and you! So, how do you deal with that when your name is floating and you have no control over it?”

Marcus Smart: “How do you deal with it? For me, how I deal with it is like you said; we have no control over it. For me to focus on what I don’t have any control over, all that’s going to do is drive me crazy, insane, and probably make me lose focus. So for me, I try to focus on the things I can control like staying healthy, taking care of my body, getting the work in. So whatever does happen, I’m prepared for it any way.”
