Yankees slugger Aaron Judge knocked his 60th homerun of the season last night and speculation over his future is rampant considering he will be a free agent at the end of the year. Judge will probably be asking for a 10-year deal and Dan thinks, especially considering his age and injury history, that is a seriously risky proposition. Besides, who knows how long he will remain in his prime and be able to produce at this level?
Dan Patrick: “(Aaron) Judge has had a historical season, but that doesn’t mean that you should give him a 10-year deal which is probably what he’s going to want. He’s going to be 31 at the start of next season. There have been injuries, injury concern throughout his 7-year career. That’s not a great combination for somebody looking for probably a 10-year contract. Every player ages differently so it’s hard to predict how much longer Judge will be in his prime.”
