With hitting his 62nd home run of the season to surpass Roger Maris for the most all time in the American League, Ben Maller says that Aaron Judge has ended any and all discussion of Shohei Ohtani being the rightful MVP.

Ben Maller: "There are many variables that go into the Most Valuable Player award. Value - how do you judge value? That's why it's open ended and there's these debates on all these dopey sports radio shows...It's cryptic the way the MVP is defined, but you DO have to factor in team success even though it's an individual award. It's not just a stat-based award. If it were a stat-base award it would be easy. Ohtani would win because of the pitching and the hitting."
