Following the spat between Kyler Murray and Kliff Kingsbury on Thursday Night Football, WR DeAndre Hopkins went on to describe it as a sign of their dedication and focus on winning, likened to that of a marriage. On 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, Jonas Knox and LaVar Arrington take it further, saying their pro careers have been joined at the hip since the start.

LaVar Arrington: "I believe if there's not a little bit of friction between a head coach and a quarterback, you're not not going in the right direction. Historically speaking, I've always seen quarterbacks and head coaches get into it, at least the good ones."
Jonas Knox: "There's also the reality to what Arizona built there, and it's those two guys need each other. Kyler Murray is not the quarterback of Arizona if Kliff Kingsbury is not the head coach, and vice versa. This was the perfect pairing, this is the perfect match. It's why Arizona moved on from Steve Wilks, it's why they moved on from Josh Rosen. Josh Rosen, they traded up and took in the top 10, but they identified that these two guys together were going to be the direction they wanted to go, and this is the move that they made."
