Cooper Manning: No Extra Pressure for Arch

Photo: Bob Levey

Host of The Manning Hour, son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, brother to former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning, and father to top rated high school quarterback Arch Manning who has committed to Texas, Cooper Manning joins Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show. He talks about what it was like having a famous father and playing in high school with Peyton throwing him passes. He says his role with his son Arch has been to help remove unnecessary pressure considering the spotlight already on him at such a young age. And he talks about working with Peyton and Eli now that their playing days are over.

Dan Patrick: “Peyton of course, it felt like there was a lot of spotlight on him, maybe Eli not as much, and then Arch comes along. He’s supposed to be; he can’t miss...”

Cooper Manning: “I don’t think that’s fair to anybody. I think anytime you start performing well, here come the naysayers and here comes the pressure so, it’s just part of the deal...We tried to keep it pretty light. Hey look, this is high school football you’re playing. Enjoy it, enjoy your friends. No need to add extra pressure to it.”
