While everyone seems shocked by the Indianapolis Colts firing Head Coach Frank Reich and reaching into the broadcast booth for his interim replacement, Jeff Saturday, Doug Gottlieb is just fine with this move. The Colts aren’t going anywhere this year, plus they will likely fire their GM as well at some point, so it makes sense to bring in somebody that doesn’t have a lot of investment in the position when their will probably be an entirely new staff in a couple of months. Besides, there is a chance he’s actually good at the job and then you have an incredible story.
Doug Gottlieb: “Hiring Jeff Saturday feels far more risky than it actually is...If he fails, you go and get a legitimate coach in two months. If he succeeds, you got yourself a great story.”
