The truth is that Tom never played on a bad team because he was never once the highest paid player in the league, which left more money to increase the talent level surrounding him. It’s a lesson Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers could learn but he seems content with just raking in the cash. Brady’s career illustrates it’s less about the money and more about winning.
Doug Gottlieb: “Aaron Rodgers could’ve done this with Green Bay. Hey, you don’t like your surrounding talent...you know what you could have done? You could have renegotiated a contract where you made $20M. Instead you signed one that you made $53M... (Tom Brady) took less money for years upon years upon years, even when he went to Tampa. If Aaron Rodgers gets traded, do you think he’s taking a penny less than he’s owed to go to play for the Jets, the Raiders, the (Niners)? Of course not!”
