Shannon Sharpe: Mahomes First 6 Years May Be the Greatest of Any NFL Career

Hall of Fame TE and FOX Sports 1’s co-host of Undisputed, Shannon Sharpe joins Doug Gottlieb on The Doug Gottlieb Show live from Radio Row in Phoenix at Super Bowl LVII. They talk about the trade deadline in the NBA and how many “super teams” that have been assembled over the years turned out to be disappointments. And he believes that if Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes wins this Super Bowl, his 2nd ring plus never missing a Conference Championship game in his first 5 season, it will be the single best start to a career in NFL history.

Shannon Sharpe: “If he wins a championship, he’ll have the greatest five year stretch to start a career than anybody, not even (Tom) Brady...He’s going to win the MVP this year so that’ll be two regular season MVP’s, he has two 5,000-yard passing seasons in five years of starting, and if he wins the Super Bowl it’s hard for me to see a scenario in which someone other than Mahomes wins the (MVP) if Kansas City wins this game. So you’re talking about two regular season MVP’s, two Super Bowl MVP’s, two 5,000 yard seasons (and) five Pro Bowls...”
