Today on The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon, Jason and Mike discuss the Raiders waiving QB Derek Carr. While teams like the Jets and Saints feel like decent landing spots for the 4x Pro Bowl QB, the guys believe another great fit would be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jason Smith: “If the Steelers get Derek Carr, they’re playing deep into the playoffs. They can’t go into next season with Kenny Pickett. Carr is accurate, and the Steelers have two good running backs and playmakers. When things get a little tough in Pittsburgh, he’ll still be okay, because Mike Tomlin will have his back and everything will be alright. Pittsburgh is the place for Derek Carr.”
Mike Harmon: “I don’t know how quick they’ll be to want to turn the page on Pickett, but the reality is that I don’t value the talent. I value the organization and the stability that gets you to grind it out and to always be in the mix at .500. I think you’re valuing their receivers higher than I do.”
