Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins and current NAB analyst recently implied that Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki and Nikola Jokic only won their MVP awards because they were white. Perkins then doubled-down on his controversial opinion in a Twitter video which he quickly deleted after heavy backlash. Doug explains why Perkins obviously doesn’t know much about basketball if he can’t recognize these guys were clearly deserving of their awards and that race had nothing to do with it. Claiming racism where none exists is simply lazy analysis on his part.
Doug Gottlieb: “Kendrick Perkins doesn’t really know basketball, he just doesn’t...I (wouldn’t) cancel Kendrick Perkins, you just understand the reality of: that’s actually a narrative in locker rooms, in the black community, in regards to white, domestically born players.”
