James Harden Understands His Role with Joel Embiid

The Philadelphia 76ers best the Boston Celtics won the back of 52 points from NBA MVP candidate Joel Embiid, but Dan was focused on watching how James Harden has adjusted to his role by taking a back seat to his dominating teammate. He’s now focused on facilitating offense for someone other than himself, which is unfamiliar territory for one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history. With Harden dishing dimes instead of buckets, the Sixers will be dangerous in the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

Dan Patrick: “Harden is doing what he needs to do. And if you’re a pass first, and you’re going to get 11 assists per game; that would be ideal for Philadelphia. And having that weapon who can get you 30 if you need to, but if he knows what he’s best served doing, then great. And I think if Embiid knows what to expect because it goes through Embiid, everything should go through him. It used to go through James Harden...”
