Steph Curry Cannot Be Considered the Greatest Point Guard of All-Time

Doug Gottlieb: "Steph Curry is an unbelievable player, but please stop with the 'greatest point guard of all time.' Magic Johnson is the greatest point guard of all time. He completely and thoroughly dominated and owned the NBA, along with Larry Bird, for a complete decade. He could do whatever it took to help his team win the game, and he made everyone else around him better. That's what great point guards do. Steph is an incredible shooter/scorer. He's in any conversation of the greatest shooter/scorer in the history of the sport. He has changed the sport, and so did Magic. If you want to say Steph is a point guard, that's fine, but then you have to say LeBron is a point guard, and everybody knows LeBron has had a greater career than Steph."

Doug Gottlieb reacts to Steph Curry's incredible 50-point Game 7 performance against the Kings. Doug breaks down the take that Steph is the greatest point guard of all-time by explaining that the criteria of point guard would have to be changed to include Steph in the conversation, despite that it is the position he has technically played his whole career. Doug acknowledges Steph's greatness as a scorer, but still believes Magic Johnson will always be the greatest point guard of all-time.
