Today on 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, Jonas Knox, Brady Quinn and LaVar Arrington react to Kirk Cousins going into another season with one year left on his contract. Even though he and the Vikings won 13 games last year and the NFC North, quarterbacks are always judged by what they do in the playoffs and Cousins faces a stigma because of his 1-4 record.
Jonas Knox: "He seems like he's always the guy they're trying to push out but I've never looked at him as being that bad of an NFL quarterback."
LaVar Arrington: "He's just never been that great of one."
Brady Quinn: "There's a thought that if you don't have a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes, you can't win a Super Bowl. I would argue your quarterback helps you get to the playoffs but once you get to the playoffs, you've got to have the team around you that's capable of helping to make a run.
And last year in particular, I think what stood out was, he had eight game winning drives. No one in the NFL was as clutch as Kirk Cousins was last year during the course of the regular season. So, I think there's a lot of him being undervalued... And if he's in a different situation or circumstance, we're talking about him a lot different, at least his chance to win a Super Bowl."
