San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle joins Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show. He explains how the tight end position changed from being an extra lineman to being integral to NFL offenses and how much tight ends (and running backs) are underpaid. He talks about what it was like in the huddle during the NFC Championship game after losing all of their quarterbacks and says he’s confident Brock Purdy will be ready to go week 1. And he shares the details of “Tight End University” which will take place at Vanderbilt University next week.

Dan Patrick: “Are you expecting Brock (Purdy) to be starting week 1?”

George Kittle: “Oh, yeah! I am. I mean, if you win 8 games in a row, it’s hard to bench that guy. I think...”

Dan: “No, I mean health-wise, health-wise.”

George: “Oh! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I do. I mean, he’s been throwing. I think he looks good. I’ve seen him throw once or twice. He’s confident. He’s in a good place mentally and physically so I’m excited about that!”
