Jason Smith: “Did the Lakers catch up to the best team in the NBA that really set them out pretty easy in the playoffs? They didn’t. But it’s not just a Lakers thing. A lot of teams decided to run it back. The Warriors decided we want to get older and bring back Draymond Green... Kyrie goes back to the Dallas Mavericks... Kyle Kuzma stayed with Washington... so there hasn’t been a lot of big moves where suddenly we have to watch for this this team way more than we did a year ago... So the Lakers have improved but it probably isn’t enough.”
Mike Harmon: “It’s all dependent on the health of (Anthony) Davis and (LeBron) James. Did you build a roster that’s going to allow them to manage any injuries, take time off as needed during the season and reduce some of those stressful minutes? When you bring back (D’Angelo) Russell, (Austin) Reaves, (Rui) Hachimura and add more pieces, you got to feel good about where you are at.”
