Jason Smith: “This makes Sean Payton look terrible. He looks absolutely awful because he broke the unwritten rule of ‘coaches don’t rip other coaches.’ I’m not saying he shouldn’t have done it. Say what you want to say and speak your mind, but you don’t get freedom from responsibility. Honestly, he looks like he’s jealous that Aaron Rodgers and the Jets are getting all of the attention this offseason instead of him and Russell Wilson. He’s gone on record not liking Aaron Rodgers and his body language that year he was in the media... He’s mad he’s not getting the attention as he tries to resurrect Russell Wilson’s career.”
Mike Harmon: “He had gotten a lot of celebration and fanfare upon his hiring in Denver... but he’s been very clear of changing up how business has operated, talking about media not being a part of training camp. There are no distractions for him. The other side of it, is Sean Payton putting Russell Wilson on a pedestal, to excuse himself of fault in case things don’t work out. On the flip side, if things do work out, he can say, ‘Look I’m a wizard’ and take full credit.”
Jason Smith and Mike Harmon react to Sean Payton’s comments about former Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett, and taking shots at the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers, and attempting to put Russell Wilson on a pedestal. Listen to the full segment above!
