The USWNT turned in their poorest performance in a Women’s World Cup group stage as they only scored 4 goals in 3 games and barely managed to advance to the round of 16. With their hope of a 3-peat on the line, they could only muster a lackluster performance against heavily outmatched Portugal to earn a tie and advance. Doug thinks they need to put their egos and politics aside and remember exactly who they represent on the world stage.
Doug Gottlieb: “You put on USA across your chest, you represent me and everybody else! And maybe most importantly, you represent every young girl and young woman in this country. That’s how you have to play!”
