Hall of Fame QB Joe Montana joins Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show as he broadcasts his final show live from Dublin, Ireland ahead of Notre Dame’s season opener against Navy tomorrow. They talk a little about his time with the Irish and thinks it would have been difficult for him to be a starter in the NFL as a rookie. He also still doesn’t see his alma mater joining a conference even during this unprecedented time of upheaval in college football. And he has been working with Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow but isn’t ready to hand over the “Joe Cool” nickname just yet.
Dan Patrick: “I saw where Joe Burrow is working with you. So, are you loaning him ‘Joe Cool’ the nickname?”
Joe Montana: “I’m still going to make him earn it...I don’t know if I’m going to turn it completely over to him yet but he’s working on it.”
Dan: “Did you trademark that?”
Joe: “No, now I’m ‘Old Joe.’”
