Doug Gottlieb refused to jump on the Brock Purdy bandwagon and recent events have led him to believe he made the right decision. He reminds us that there is a reason Purdy was Mr. Irrelevant (the last player chosen in the NFL Draft) and his decision making down the stretch in close games is becoming an issue. Sam Darnold has the athleticism and arm strength to take a talented team like the 49ers all the way.
Doug Gottlieb: “I still think Sam Darnold is a good potential answer there because he does have elite traits; a better athlete with a better arm...It doesn’t mean I’d pull (Brock) Purdy, but I’d be very, very conscious of the fact that...he’s been unable to make plays down the stretch.”
