Prior to the 2023 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers passed up on CJ Stroud in favor of Alabama star QB Bryce Young as their #1 overall pick, but 8 weeks into their rookie seasons that decision is looking worse buy the minute. While Stroud was busy lighting up the Bucs to the historic tune of 470 yards and 5 TD's and a W, Young tossed 3 INT's - including two pick 6's - in a loss to the struggling Colts.
On today's Dan Patrick Show, Dan reacted to Stroud separating from Young and explained why the head-to-head comparison between the two won't be stopping anytime soon:
"It’s going to continue. The thing is, is CJ Stroud had one of the greatest rookie performances by a quarterback in history, and he does that on the same day as Bryce Young throws a couple of pick 6's.”
If the trendline continues, the next logical question is how long can notoriously impatient Panthers owner David Tepper resist blowing things up again and re-enter the hunt for a franchise QB.
