The Washington Commanders fired HC Ron Rivera and the Atlanta Falcons let go of HC Arthur Smith on this NFL “Black Monday,” and Doug wonders if New England Patriots HC Bill Belichick is next on the list. However, things are a little different this year as Bill has signaled a willingness to restructure his role if he’s asked to step away from personnel decisions, something he had refused consider until recently. It may be the only way he keeps his job in New England after such a disappointing season.
Doug Gottlieb: “It’s not a crazy idea. What was crazy about it was; no one thought Bill Belichick would go for it previously. And now it feels like, yeah, I think he actually would go for it.”
Dan Beyer: “Maybe taking some of that workload off of his plate would be a good way to maybe enter the final chapters of your career.”
