The New England Patriots announced that they and Bill Belichick “have mutually agreed to part ways,” and Doug is calling them out. It’s obvious to anyone paying attention that he was, in fact, fired and they’re just putting a facade over the truth. Doug is having trouble understanding why they are hiding the reality when there’s nothing wrong with a head coach getting fired. After all, it happens multiple times every year.
Doug Gottlieb: “The hugs are really weird and forced, the speeches are very short, the emotions don’t feel real, Bill Belichick’s not done coaching; this was a firing. He was fired today. It’s OK to be fired.”
