Doug Gottlieb: “I don’t think people understand how these things work. This is real Name, Image, and Likeness. This is what happens when you pool it all together. This is what happens in a real union, the people who don’t have value get more than they’re worth, the people have some value get a little bit less than they’re worth...Dan, how many college football players for next year can you name?”
Dan Beyer: “Probably like 10.”
Doug Gottlieb: “I can name the QB for my alma mater cause he’s coming back, and I can name the QB for Texas, and that’s about it...these players think they have value on their own, but this is what the market looks like!”
Dan Beyer: “The other part of it is, I don’t think they were given copies of the game as value, I think they were given the game to be like, you know, you’re in the game. You wanna put it on a plaque, on your mantle? They’re doing it for value...20 years ago; players would have paid to get in the game!”

Filling in for Dan Patrick and the Danettes, Doug Gottlieb and Dan Beyer talk about the payments going out to college football players for the use of their likeness in the upcoming EA Sports College Football video game, and why it’s a perfect example of the players value.
