'We're Done With the 2020s': Why LeBron James' Era is a Pitiful Abomination

Jay Skapinac: “Amid the mounting pressures placed on the mentally weak bums masquerading around as young ‘elite’ NBA players in the early 2010s to live up to the established legends who were dominating the NBA at that time, a self-proclaimed 'king' ascended to a fake throne to lead the other losers to the promised land.
No, they never would be able to meet those unattainably lofty levels created by the all-time greats that preceded them, but they would do the next best thing... At least it was the next best thing for the corrupt fake news journalists exploding in their pants while promoting their lies to the ignorant horde of the Gen-Z masses.
Yes, while they were exploding in their pants, scoring was exploding on the court. A result of the systematic assault and eventual destruction of defense and competition that began right around the year of 2013 that produced the most disgusting product in the history of professional basketball in the United States of America -- the decade of the 2020s.
It has been a decade highlighted by rapid statistical enhancement with four-year nightly averages thus far of 113 points per game, which makes it the highest-scoring decade since the 1960s. The 60s, a decade with unimaginable individual statistical accomplishments. Which today are universally met with ridicule and resentment while the players of that era have had asterisks slapped on all of their accomplishments. Which is exactly the type of treatment the players in today's era should be encountering. A pathetic and pampered group of entitled losers led, of course, by the 'chosen one' who started it all. A guy whose bag is so minuscule that he's sporting a 37% shooting percentage outside of 3 feet from the basket for his now 21-year career and counting. No left hand -- the ‘bagless one’s’ go-to move is to lower his head and charge into the basket. A tactic which has failed more often times than not when the lights are at their brightest. The undisputed leader of a generation who in his prime as a back-to-back league MVP was soiling in his pants while getting locked up by a 5'11” defender [J.J. Barea] and being outplayed by a 6'2” bench player [Jason Terry].
And speaking of getting destroyed by a 6'2” player, also featured in this era, the greatest shooter of all time -- Steph Curry, who can't even dunk a basketball yet beat LeBron James head-to-head in three NBA Finals in a 4-year span.
All of these players have given way now to this current product where nightly regular season games look more like All-Star games did in the '90s and 2000s. All-Star games today resemble something more similar to a layup line and a shootaround. We have multiple players damn near eating themselves out of the league with ‘little game’ James Harden running point on the ‘All-Buffet' team and Zion Williamson getting buckets... of KFC that is. And we know of Harden's pension for, uh, the ‘night life’ but at least the only thing he's strapped with when he hits the clubs is cash [unlike Ja Morant].
As salaries continue to swell to unbelievable levels, these soft and entitled TikTok stars and podcasters can barely be troubled to play 60-something games a year. And now the undisputed ‘true’ king of the 2020s, Nikola Jokic, has been so utterly dominant that grown men burst into tears until the fraudulent media jock-sniffers hand out pity awards. Which was the only thing that stood in his way from a presumptive 4-year league MVP stretch. This icon has eviscerated this pitiful era at such a level that he is currently the all-time leader in NBA history for player efficiency, box plus-minus, and win-shares per 48 minutes. And yet at 6'11", he can barely dunk a basketball.
At least in the previous eras throughout NBA history the other all-time greats actually BEAT their plumbers. In the 2020s, the ‘plumbers’ are dominating the league. With Luca Doncic now posting career averages of 29 points per game, 8.5 rebounds, and 8 assists by just the age of 24. He has already openly acknowledged how much ‘easier’ the NBA is now than the Euro League. We have career layup merchants [LeBron] stat-padding their ways to obscene scoring thresholds while bricking and air-balling anything other than a layup or a dunk, and loafing their overrated asses all over the court on defense.
Make no mistake, the 2020s are an unmitigated abomination to the sport of basketball where 6’2” G-Leaguers [Mac McClung] have more heart and desire to perform than alleged all-time greats, and second-round draft picks [Jokic] have risen to levels of nearly unequaled historical dominance. An era highlighted by pubescent volatility and entitlement where the inmates have unquestionably taken over the asylum.
Perhaps it is time for us true admirers of a once great product and sport to stand united and resolute with one decisive message that we are DONE with the 2020s, and the heinous all-time record setting low viewership numbers can attest that. THAT is a message that has already been made loud and clear.”

Listen to YouTube basketball documentarian Jay Skapinac of the Skap Attack podcast push back on the ‘We’re Done With the 90s’ NBA basketball trend that went viral on X this week.

Critics of Michael Jordan seemingly flocked to X in groves posting disparaging video clips from noteworthy NBA games of the 1990s tagged with ‘We’re Done With the 90s’ that were meant to showcase sloppy basketball and an inferior level of athleticism to incite inflammatory debate on the legitimacy of Jordan actually being considered the ‘greatest player of all time.’

Check out the segment above as Skapinac punches back at the social media trolls trying to propel LeBron James over Jordan, with Skapinac formulating his own ‘We’re Done With the 2020’s’ tagline detailing how fraudulent the accomplishments from this era are.
