Covino & Rich are in once again for Dan on the third and last show of their “Dan Patrick Hat Trick.” They’re pretty excited about the way the NBA Western Conference Play-in Tournament is shaping up and wonder if it might not be more compelling than the playoffs themselves. With superstars like LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant representing, it should provide all the drama we’re hoping for.
Rich Davis: “Is the top of the (NBA) West boring compared to the bottom of the West as far as marquee names?”
Steve Covino: “I don’t think there’s any question what want and what the casual fans want to see. Is it good for basketball to have the Timberwolves, the Nuggets and OKC, the Clippers; all of them up top? I mean, it’s good for these smaller market teams, (but) I don’t think anyone else is excited about that though.”
