Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins and Pro Bowl defensive end Trey Hendrickson have reportedly both requested trades, sources with knowledge of their situations confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday (April 24).

Both Higgins and Hendrickson's reported trade requests came amid apparent failed discussions for long-term deals.

"Bengals three-time Pro-Bowl DE Trey Hendrickson has requested to be traded from Cincinnati, per league source. Hendrickson is due to make $15 million this season, and is looking for more long-term security than Cincinnati has been willing to offer," Schefter wrote.

"Bengals franchise WR Tee Higgins also has requested to be traded being that there have been no contract talks with the team now in over a year," he added shortly after his initial report on Hendrickson.

Reports of the trade requests came hours ahead of the first-round of the 2024 NFL Draft Thursday (April 25) night. Higgins, 25, had previously requested a trade in March after recently being franchise tagged by the Bengals.

Cincinnati notified Higgins of its intention to apply the franchise tag on February 26. The former second-round pick was reportedly expected to be paid around $21.8 million for the 2024 season as part of the franchise tag, though many suspected it could've instead been used a placeholder for the Bengals to negotiate a long-term extension before the mid-July deadline.

Hendrickson, 29, was a first-team All-Pro in 2023 and selected to the Pro Bowl during each of the past three seasons.
