Dan Hurley Coaching The Lakers Works For Everybody Involved

Dan addresses the Woj-bomb from NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski that the Los Angeles Lakers are “targeting” University of Connecticut Men’s Head Basketball Coach Dan Hurley for their head coaching vacancy despite recent speculation that they were planning to hire JJ Redick. He replays a portion of his last interview with Dan Hurley where Hurley confirms his interest in coaching in the NBA and considers what this would mean for the Lakers, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, UCONN, and of course, for Dan Hurley. This is certainly is a surprise development but it makes a lot of sense.

Dan Patrick: “Let’s say it doesn’t work out. If he goes to the Lakers and maybe after four years, he can always go back to college basketball. So, I get it, I understand it. It’s the next challenge for him. I mean, if you’re at UCONN, you’re sad if this happens but you also have to say thank you. I mean, he gave you back-to-back national titles. So, there’s something to be said for everybody involved in this. With the Lakers, with what they’re doing, why they’re doing it. LeBron; how does this work with him? AD; how does this work with him? And then Danny Hurley...”
