Jason Smith: In a Meat World, Joey Chestnut Went Non-Meat

placeholder image

Jason and Mike react to the news that professional eater Joey Chestnut has been banned from the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest this year after signing an endorsement deal with an impossible meat company. The guys love the 'fake outrage' that this has stemmed, but also acknowledge that Major League Eating is probably making a pretty big mistake in alienating its biggest star.

Jason Smith: "[Joey Chestnut] has crossed the meat rubicon. He does hot dogs and chicken wings and all that... and what does he do? Signs with a fake meat company!... In a meat world, he went non-meat... He has decided not only to sign with a rival -- no, he signs with a fake meat company... You've spit in the face of meat in general! That's like saying, 'hey, I'm the biggest Star Wars fan in the world,'... and then all of a sudden saying 'hey, I'm jumping over to Star Trek. They're paying me more money."
