The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 106-88 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to capture their NBA record 18th Championship last night and the inevitable questions about a budding dynasty in Boston. They had every opportunity to start one over the last five or six years and a single title does not a dynasty make. It’s much harder than it looks to dominate the entire league for more than a couple of years and this iteration of the Celtics struggled to win just this one title.
Dan Patrick: “I know that we want to label, well...is this a dynasty? I think they had the chance to be a dynasty the last five years, six years. Winning a title doesn’t mean you’re going to be a dynasty.”
