The Los Angeles Lakers are officially going to hire JJ Redick as their next head coach and Doug Gottlieb isn’t surprised. He never believed the rumors that the Detroit Pistons were targeting Redick and he thinks the Lakers only took a stab at Dan Hurley because they knew they had Redick waiting in the wings when Hurley turned them down. It’s obvious the hiring of JJ Redick had LeBron James’ blessing and will keep him here at least one more season.
Doug Gottlieb: “LeBron James isn’t going anywhere. You don’t hire JJ Redick who does podcasts with LeBron James unless you’ve gotten a guarantee that LeBron James wants JJ Redick to be his head coach.”
