Doug Gottlieb: "Paul Skenes gets pulled after 99 pitches. What are your thoughts when the other skipper doesn't let him go out?
Pat Murphy: "I'm happy. We got 2 hits the next inning. They're trying to protect the guy. It's more about his health and the long term. 100 seems like the magic number, I don't know if it is. The number of times you run out there, what they call the 'ups,' he was up 7 times. To ask him to go up 8 times is a lot, it's the difference sometimes. Sometimes 5-6 is a lot. Every time you get past 5 innings, with a workload in the 80s to 90s, another time out there is said to be where the danger zone exists for injury. This guy is so under control. He's so strong. I think he could have went back out, but I won't question what was done. They erred on the side of caution."
