It’s Not If, It’s When the NFL Adds 18th Game

Dan Patrick understands that it’s a foregone conclusion that the NFL will be adding an 18th game to their regular season and is convinced it will happen sooner rather than later, much like we are seeing with the College Football Playoff expansion. He expects the NFL to expedite the change well before the collective bargaining agreement expires in 2030.

Dan Patrick: “It’s going to happen. The question is; does it happen before the collective bargaining agreement expires in 2030? I would say they’ll probably expedite this...When we got to 17 I was told, you know, we’re going to 18; the question is when we’re going to 18. It’s not a question of if, but when. It’s just like the College Football Playoffs.”
