Shaun King: “Put Some Respect on Russell Wilson's Name!”

Chris Broussard and Shaun King react to the comparisons between the Bears number 1 overall pick in the draft QB Caleb Williams and Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson. They examine former NFL WR Amani Toomer's comments and debate the validity of these comparisons.

Chris Broussard: “I don’t know Russ personally, and I don’t dislike him based on what I see from the outside. But I think he’s talking about the situation in Denver, and some of it seems polished. He is clearly a guy with aspirations beyond just being a great QB. The way he markets himself, the video-taping, the social media presence—all of that suggests he’s here to do more than just play football. I think that’s probably what he (Amani Toomer) meant.”
Shaun King: “We’ve got to put some respect on Russell Wilson's name. Russ is the most underappreciated QB in the history of the NFL. Russell Wilson came into the NFL in 2012, and as a rookie, took the Seahawks to the playoffs. In his second year, he took them to the Super Bowl and beat Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. In year three, he took them back to the Super Bowl, and outside of maybe the dumbest play call inside the 5-yard line in the history of sports, he would have beaten Tom Brady and the Patriots! Russ is a baller. If Caleb Williams turns out to be Russell Wilson, guess what, everyone in Chicago be ready because there are going to be a couple of parades!”
