New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers made it clear that this has been a tough training camp, tougher than most seasons he has played in the league and Doug Gottlieb reads between the lines. He doesn’t think Rodgers is actually complaining about his HC Robert Saleh directly, he instead believes Rodgers is playing the perception game and is setting up Saleh to take the blame if the season falls apart. If/when the Jets struggle this season, especially in the early weeks, somebody will take the heat and Rodgers is just making sure it won’t land on him.
Doug Gottlieb: “(Aaron Rodgers) is not blaming anybody yet, but he’s definitely laying what I think anyone could see to be the groundwork of, ‘Hey look, this was Robert (Saleh)’s idea. If it goes bad, just remember this was Robert’s idea.’”
